How it all started (For me)

Hi Nix* Geeks!

When I say Nix* (Unix/Linux), I’m referring to all systems derived from the original Unix. These days, Unix and Linux have diverged significantly, though they were more similar when it all started in September 1991. Today, we won’t dive into the Unix history, how Linus created Linux from Minix, or how BSDs and macOS are both similar and different from the original Unix. Instead, I’ll share how I began my journey in the Unix world and my first sysadmin task.

I began my professional career as a Technical Support Executive at a local hosting provider.

Although I was introduced to Unix during my freshman year in college, I truly deepened my knowledge by preparing for Linux certifications and advanced training throughout my studies. However, it wasn’t until after graduation that I stepped into the professional realm of Unix/Linux system administration.
